Why choose mediation?

Cheaper than going to Court

You or your former partner could qualify for legal aid for mediation, which could make it free for both of you. It’s four times cheaper than the average court case.

Quicker than going to Court

We will meet you when it suits you. Mediation can take a month or two, court can go on for at least four months and in some cases for years.

Have your Say

You decide what happens, not a judge. Our mediators don’t take sides and will make sure you get chance to have your say.

Mediation gives a process where two people meet in a safe neutral place to talk about their issues, usually following a separation or divorce. Mediation helps you sort out practical issues that matter to you, like:

  • Where children are going to live
  • When you or your former partner will see the children
  • Child maintenance payments
  • Sharing finances (e.g. house, savings, pension)
  • Dealing with any debts
  • Seeing the grandkids
